2008 Acronym contest

Attention all teens:  Turn a negative into a positive and vie to win a $500 U.S. Savings Bond. Simply come up with an acronym for any or all of the following words:
Dork, Loser, Hate, Racism, or Stupid

 

2008 Essay Contest

 If your "Self" has found your "Esteem" we want to hear from you. Write an essay, in 500 words or less, about why you think having positive self-esteem can stamp out bullying. First prize for the winning essay is a
$500.00 US Savings Bond.

To enter one or both of our contests, please read the following contest rules and regulations:

Acronym Contest Rules and Regulations: All entries must be original, legible and submitted on 8 1/2 x 11 white paper or emailed to HeyUGLY411@yahoo.com. Entrant's name, age, home address, and phone number must be clearly printed, in black ink, on the entry or in the email. Contestants may enter contest more than once. Must be 10 - 19 to enter. Void where prohibited by law. Entries must be mailed or emailed to: Hey U G L Y  Acronym Contest, c/o Hey U G L Y, Inc., PO Box 345, Rolling Prairie, IN 46371 or email HeyUGLY411@yahoo.com. All entries must be postmarked no later than May 15, 2009. All entries submitted for judging will become the exclusive property of Hey U G L Y, Inc. and will not be returned to entrants. To determine the winner, all entries submitted will be judged on creativity, memorability, originality and positivity. An independent panel of writers and journalists will conduct judging. Judging will take place on or about July 15, 2009. Decisions of judges are final. If our judges select an acronym entry that is exactly the same as other entries, a random drawing will be conducted to select the winner. Winner will be notified, by phone or mail, no later than September 15, 2009. First Prizes is a $500.00 U.S. Savings Bond (nonmaturity value, $250.00). To receive a written letter listing the winner, send a stamped, self-addressed envelope by October 15, 2009. Winner need not be present to win. All taxes and any expenses not indicated herein are the sole responsibility of the winner. Any prize returned as undeliverable will be awarded to an alternate winner. Entry and acceptance of prize constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) for sponsor and anyone it may authorize to use winners' names, photographs or other likenesses, biographical information, hometowns and statements concerning the contest for purposes of advertising and promotion without compensation to the winner. Employees of Hey U G L Y, Inc., its affiliated companies, participating partners and their respective advertising, promotion and production agencies and their immediate families are not eligible. Not responsible for lost, late illegible, mutilated, postage-due, misdirected mail, typographical or other errors. Photocopied or mechanically reproduced entries are not eligible.
